Anti-Semitism in Austria 2020 (SUF edition)

DOI

Full edition for scientific use. In 2018, Parliament commissioned IFES (in cooperation with Demox) to conduct a very comprehensive data survey on the topic of anti-semitism in Austria. The results were initially presented descriptively. In a further study, the dimensionality and explanatory factors for anti-semitic attitudes were analysed. This study was repeated in 2020, on the one hand to visualise developments over a longer period of time, and on the other to pick up on new aspects. Media influences and anti-semitic conspiracy myths surrounding the coronavirus pandemic were identified as additional topics that had arisen from the discussion surrounding the presentation of the first study as well as events over the last two years. Conspiracy myths are nothing new in the context of anti-semitism, but they take on a new relevance in times of the pandemic.
