Morphology of the Flux-Line Lattice in Nb at High Pressures

DOI

The objective of this proposed experiment is to study the pressure dependence of the flux-line lattice(FLL) in the superconducting state of Nb. A diamond anvil cell will be used to obtain pressures of up to 10 GPa. This will enable us to to investigate changes in the FLL associated with the observed abrupt increase in TC and preposed electronic transition at 4 GPa. This experiment is part of our sucessful project to develop high pressure SANS studies of FLLs in type II superconductors.
