The goal of this project is to study the bacterial communities and hydrocarbon degrading bacterial populations from coastal sediments of Patagonia, as well as their response to oil input. The study has got relevance regarding the bioremediation of cold coastal environments, as hydrocarbon pollution in high latitude marine environments is expected to increase.
