A survey of skyrmions

DOI

Skyrmions are topological excitations that exist in a variety of magnetic insulators. Here we propose to explore the feasibility of studying skyrmions using implanted muons at ISIS. Our aim is to investigate the phenomenology of the muon response to these objects as part of a larger project to discover and characterize new skyrmionic materials.
