Some marine dinoflagellate species belonging to the order Dinophysiales are known to harbor cyanobacterial symbionts. This study aimed to reveal the whole genome sequence of the cyanobacterial symbiont of Citharistes regius, a Dinophysiales dinoflagellate. To achieve this, we analyzed single-cell amplified genomes obtained from Citharistes regius cells sampled from the natural environment.
