Stable carbon isotopes and total organic carbon of marine sediment core E-8X, Danish North Sea, covering the Paleocene-Eocene boundary

DOI

The data set contains raw datafiles from a Costech ECS4010 Elemental Analyser in order to measure ẟ13Corg and total organic carbon (TOC) values. The ẟ13Corg and TOC data was collected in 2019 on 39 samples from core E-8X, focusing on a small interval between 2025.52 and 2025.32 m, corresponding to the carbon isotope excursion (CIE) typical of the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum. The sample spacing was ~0.5 cm to gain high-resolution data around the CIE. The attached file includes a raw data compilation of ẟ13Corg and TOC values that are utilised to describe the carbon cycle disruption in the central North Sea during the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum.
