Data replication for "Evaluation of the effects of metformin on gut functions and microbiota and their contribution to improving glucose tolerance in diabetic mice"

To dissect how metformin-driven alterations in the gut contribute to systemic glucose metabolism improvements, we conducted a dose-response study in mice rendered obese and glucose intolerant by a 10-week high-fat, high-sucrose (HFS) diet. Mice received increasing doses of metformin via oral gavage for four weeks. Three intestinal segments were harvested and 16S sequencing of microbiota content was performed.
