Geodetic glacier mass balances of Stubacher Sonnblickkees, Hohe Tauern Range, Eastern Alps, Austria, 2023/20224

DOI

This dataset provides annual geodetic mass balance measurements of the Stubacher Sonnblickkees glacier in the Hohe Tauern, Austria, derived from UAV-borne photogrammetry. Data collection began in 2019 and will be continued with yearly updates. The dataset was produced within an intercomparison exercise designed to evaluate differences between the geodetic, glaciological, and semi-direct methods for determining glacier mass balance. High-resolution elevation models generated from UAV surveys enable precise estimation of annual surface changes. The dataset supports long-term monitoring of glacier evolution in the Eastern Alps and contributes to the assessment of methodological uncertainties in mass balance observations.
