Microbial characterization of sediments from the SouthWestern Gulf of Mexico

In this work, we described for the first time the bacterial and geochemical landscape for the swGoM establishing the first taxonomic pan genera for marine sediments in this region. To our knowledge, this is the first study in the swGoM that provides clues to the bacterial population acclimation, to the ubiquitous presence of hydrocarbons that shaped and selected organisms with biotechnological and ecological surveillance applications.
