3-D magnetic structure of TlNiCl3

We propose to determine the magnetic structure(s) of the triangular quasi 1D linear chain antiferromagnet TlNiCl3. The aim of this experiment is to establish the the critical exponent beta in order to classify this material in the framework of the chirality classes found in the ABX3 triangular magnets. The crystallographic data will be used in DFT calculations in order to obtain the single ion anisotropy of this systems in dependently from magnetic and excitation measurements.
