Feeding ecology of North Pacific euphausiids

This project aimed to characterize the feeding ecology of euphausiids in the north Pacific Ocean. The metabarcoding data of 18S V9 region were obtained from dissected gut content of euphausiids and filtered seawater samples from the California current area and the eastern/western subtropical North Pacific. Euphausiids samples were collected by MOHT from 500 m depth, and seawater was sampled from different depth layers (0m, 10m, 100m, 200m and SCM) then filtered on Nuclepore polycarbonate membrane filters. The gut content composition of euphausiids were compared with the environmental community structure reflected by the filtered seawater metabarcoding. Diet of euphausiids from different areas of the north Pacific were also compared with each other.
