The aim of this study is to test taxonomic assignment bioinformatic tools on a real marine sediment sample from the Gulf of Mexico. Prokaryotes sequencing was performed with three new generation sequencing technologies (IonTorrent, PacBio and Illumina), in order to establish biases related to the most commonly used metagenomic approaches.
