Data collected in the framework of the ERC project “Artsoundscapes, the sound of special places: exploring rock art soundscapes and the sacred” (acronym: Artsoundscapes, Grant Agreement No. 787842, PI ICREA Research Professor Margarita Díaz-Andreu). The project focuses on the relationship between archaeoacoustics and rock art. The dataset includes audio files that are the omnidirectional impulse responses gathered in a selection of rock art sites in the Karakol valley (Russian Altai), more specifically, Kara-Too, Torgun, Bichiktu-Bom and Talda. The tables include the acoustic parameter values derived from those impulse responses. Fieldwork was conducted in August 2019, by Margarita Díaz-Andreu, Adriano Farina, Tommaso Mattioli, Laura Coltofean, Elio Smith, Elena Miklashovich and Andrzej Rozwadowski.
Primary data discussed on an article entitled " Shamans’ soundscapes: the archaeoacoustic study of Karakol rock art (Republic of Altai, Russia)" is included in this Dataset. Raw recordings and other formats of impulse responses are also available on request. For any further information about this research, please contact with Margarita Díaz-Andreu (m.diaz-andreu@ub.edu)
