Questions asked in 1970 (SN 170/175) Number of persons in household who possessed experience of: formal education beyond the age of 15, HM forces, Merchant Navy, HM dockyards. Number of persons in household who hold a driving licence (ordinary and special), who speak Gaelic. 2. Questions asked in 1973 for an in-migrant supplement (SN 170) Attitude to move into Easter Ross, features of the district liked/disliked, reasons for taking job in Easter Ross, previous visits to Easter Ross, place of residence of relatives. Background Variables Questions asked in both the 1970 and the 1973 surveys (SN 170/175) Age, sex, place of birth, household status, occupation, place of work, previous employment, Registrar General's social class (information gathered for ALL members of the household). Children living outside Invergordon area: age, marital status, origin of spouse, occupation, date left district.
