These images were acquired during expedition SO295 with the German research vessel SONNE in 2022 as part of the MiningImpact project that conducts an independent scientific monitoring and assessment of the environmental impacts of an industrial test of a polymetallic nodule collector vehicle in the Clarion Clipperton Zone. The images were acquired by RV SONNEs OFOS in the BEL working area ~1.5 years after the collector trial. Mission goal: Image survey of the collector impact site at 1.5 m altitude. Mission was planned to cross the collector impact site twice and additionally monitor the directly surrounding area. Mission comments: The distance between the laser points is 40 cm.
