Integrated small RNA genomics of mosquito cells reveal dynamic evolutionary responses to viruses and transposons.

We present an integrated resource of profiling and analysis of small RNAs from mosquiot cells and tissues from 4 main species to determine how the viruses and transposons compare in the production of small regulatory RNAs. Overall design: Various mosquito cell lines and tissues were cultured or obtained, dissected to separate gonads from soma, and then total RNA was extracted and the small RNAs were purified and converted to Illumina libraries for high throughput sequencing.
