Copy of: In-situ Characterization of Residual Stress Evolution of Components formed by Direct Metal Laser Sintering

DOI

This proposal aims (1) to characterize the residual stress in Titanium alloys prepared by direct metal laser sintering, an additive layer manufacturing process; (2) to correlate the interaction between materials properties, i.e. residual thermal stress, phase transformation stress and the process parameters of the additive manufacturing process variables, e.g. sample geometry and heat treatment parameters. Please note: This proposal was revised according to the discussions with ENGIN-X beamline scientist Dr Joe Kelleher and the feedback received from our unsuccessful application for Round 2014-1 call. We hope it can be considered for beamline time through the rapid access route.
