Probing Spin dynamics of candidate Quantum Spin Liquid Y2CuTiO6

DOI

Quantum spin liquids (QSL) are the materials, which does not show any magnetic ordering down to the absolute zero temperature. In our project we are trying to explore the fact of Y2CuTiO6 being a quantum spin liquid candidate by probing its spin dynamics using Muon Spin Relaxation (MuSR) . The preliminary magnetic measurements gives a strong indication of Y2CuTiO6 being a spin liquid candidate as it does not show any magnetic ordering down to the lowest temperature measured. To ascertain our claim, MuSR will be an excellent tool to see the local magnetic environment in the system for concluding the possible dynamic behaviour of spin. We would like to perform the MuSR experiment down to the lowest temperature available with zero filed to see if there is any sign of long range magnetic ordering . Further we would like to repeat the experiment with the presence of a longitudinal field.
