The 230Th-U ages presented here are based on the stalagmite SMT16 collected in São Mateus cave (13.67°S; 46.37°W) located in the Parque Estadual de Terra Ronca (PETER) in central Brazil. This data was presented in the publication by Della Libera et al. (2026).The chronology of SMT16 was obtained using multi-collector inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS), performed at the Geochronology Laboratory at the University of Minnesota (USA) and at the Institute of Global Environmental Change, Xi'an Jiaotong University (China), following the methods described in Cheng et al. (2013a). The sampling for the U-Th dating was performed by extracting ~100 mg of powdered carbonate with a dentist drill along the stalagmite growth axis, with a total of 18 U-Th ages. The final chronology was determined by calculating an age-depth model using StalAge (Scholz and Hoffmann, 2011).
