This planktonic foraminiferal data set consists of eight surface sediment samples were collected using a boxcore, at the Bight Fracture Zone (BFZ21) and the Charlie-Gibbs Fracture Zone (CHG23), in the Reykjanes Ridge. The upper 1 cm of the sediment was dried (50 ºC), weighted, wet sieved over >63 micrometers and the residue was dried and weighted again. The size fraction > 150 micrometers was split with a microspliter to obtain a minimum of 300 individuals. Then, the samples were observed with a binocular microscope to identify the foraminiferal species according to Schiebel and Hemleben (2017). We separated the Neogloboquadrina pachyderma counts in 5 morphotypes following Altuna et al. (2018): Nps1, Nps2, Nps3, Nps4 and Nps5. Besides, we recognized 5 morphologies in Neogloboquadrina incompta, we distinguished them as: morphotype 1, morphotype 2, morphotype 3, morphotype 4 and morphotype 5. In addition, the sinistral and dextral morphotypes of Globigerina bulloides and Torburotalita quinqueloba was counted separately. The presence/absence of the bulla in Globigerinita glutinata was recorded as "with bulla" o "without bulla". Images of the main foraminiferal species and morphotypes are included.
