Isotopic measurements were conducted on a triple quadrupole ICP-MS (iCAP TQe ICP-MS ThermoFisher Scientific) coupled with an Apex IR (ESI) at the Institute of Earth Sciences, Heidelberg University. 232Th values are normalized to IAEA-385 certificate value based on standards in each digestion batch to correct subtle digestion deficiencies. The correction factor for each sample is provided by 'IAEA-385 correction factor for 232Th'. For more details consult the main manuscript. Authigenic Uranium was calculated under the assumption of a detrital factor of D = 0.5 +- 0.1. δ234U was calculated directly from measurements (δ234U) and based on the assumption of detrital and hydrogenic endmembers with an endmember mixing model (δ234U modeled). 230Th normalized vertical fluxes were calculated from the linked datasets for iron and Si/Al-derived opal..
