Supplementary material for "Heterogeneity in postprandial glucose-insulin and triacylglycerol dynamics and associations with plasma metabolome and body composition in obesity"

DOI

This supplementary material accompanies the manuscript “Heterogeneity in postprandial glucose–insulin and triacylglycerol dynamics and associations with plasma metabolome and body composition in obesity.” The data originate from the CARBFUNC clinical trial (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT03401970), which included 190 adults with abdominal obesity (90 males, 100 females; age 21–56 years; BMI 26–54 kg/m²). Participants underwent a standardized 4-hour mixed meal test with repeated measurements of serum glucose, C-peptide, and triacylglycerols (TAGs). Functional principal component analysis (FPCA) was applied to characterize individual curve dynamics, and the resulting patterns were correlated with over 100 anthropometric and fasting biochemical traits.
