Muscle transcriptome of a nutritional challenge experiment in European amphioxus (Branchiostoma lanceolatum). Animal muscles were sampled after feeding (n=7), fasting (n=8), and refeeding (n=6) to determine genes with changing expression in muscle due to nutritional challenge. Samples were pooled from each state (fed, fasted, refed) for Roche 454 sequencing. Raw reads were trimmed and quality filtered, and assembled with Newbler v2.5.
