The purpose of this study was: 1. To estimate the number of visitor days to the 10 National Parks in England and Wales, the Broads and the New Forest (the term `Parks' refers to all 12 areas). 2. To provide information about the characteristics of visits to the Parks and the types of visitor coming to them. 3. To use, (for the first time), a comparable approach to surveying visitors in all the Parks in England and Wales.
