Effect of diet on microbiota of mice with colitis

Mice were fed with an enriched diet (ED; 4.7kcal/g, 38%kcal from milk fat) or a standard diet (SD; 3.9kcal/g, 8%kcal from milk fat) for 31 days. Colitis was induced by 1% dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) in male C57BL/6 mice for 7 days. Cecal microbiota composition was determined by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. The objective was to decipher the effect of different diets on intestinal inflammation and gut microbiota composition.
