Stable oxygen isotope data of Globorotalia inflata and radiocarbon dates for sediment cores GeoB22734-2

Stable oxygen isotopes were measured on planktonic foraminifera specimens of G. inflata (≥150 µm). Samples of G. inflata were handpicked and more than 3 specimens were used for analysis. Samples were taken every 10 cm along core GeoB22734-2. Intervals with clear turbidite deposits were not sampled to avoid reworked specimens. Stable oxygen isotopes were measured using a Thermo Fisher Scientific 253 plus gas isotope ratio mass spectrometer with a Kiel IV automated carbonate preparation device at the MARUM - Center for Marine Environmental Sciences, University of Bremen. During analyses, an in-house standard (i.e. Solnhofen limestone) calibrated against the international reference material NBS-19 was used for instrument calibration. Standard deviation of the Solnhofen limestone over the measurement period was <0.06% for δ¹⁸O. All δ¹⁸O data presented here are shown relative to the VPDB standard. We express our δ¹⁸O values as ice volume corrected (ivc) in order to isolate the regional hydrographic signal from global ice volume fluctuations.
