Recently discovered tetragonal compounds CeRu2M2X (M=Al and Ga, X=B and C) provide new opportunity to investigate ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic ordering in the same compound by varying temperature. For example CeRu2Al2B shows antiferromagnetic (AFM) ordering below TN = 14.2 K, which is followed by a first-order ferromagnetic (FM) transition with Curie temperature TC = 12.8 K (Fig. 2). Further CeRu2Ga2B exhibits FM type ordering below 18 K with marked difference in the ZFC and FC susceptibility. FM ordering has been also observed in CeRu2Ga2C at 20 K. Considering interesting magnetic properties of CeRu2M2X (M=Al, Ga and X=B and C), it is timely to investigate these compounds using μSR and inelastic neutron scattering measurements. We therefore proposed to carry our muSR and inelastic neutron scattering measurements on CeRu2M2X compounds.
