This dataset contains rock-magnetic measurements obtained from Plio–Pleistocene hemipelagic sediment samples recovered at IODP Site U1463 on the Northwest Shelf of Australia (NWS). The records include volumetric low-field magnetic susceptibility, anhysteretic remanent magnetization (ARM; 100 mT peak AF), median destructive field (MDF) of ARM, isothermal remanent magnetization (IRM; 1 T), hard IRM (HIRM) calculated after a backfield of 0.3 T, and S-ratios calculated using backfields of 0.1 T and 0.3 T. These magnetic parameters characterize variations in magnetic mineral concentration, grain size, and coercivity, providing constraints on changes in mineral provenance and sediment-transport processes on the NWS. All measurements were performed on 8 cm³ IODP paleomagnetic plastic cube samples collected at an average spacing of ~2 m and processed after IODP Expedition 356 sampling. The dataset supports interpretations of sediment transport dynamics, hydroclimate variability, and paleoceanographic changes in the region, and accompanies the manuscript submitted to Paleoceanography and Paleoclimatology. Data files are provided as individual tables with corresponding depth and age information.
