Carbonate mass accumulation rates (MARCarb) were calculated for Site 1085 following successive steps: first, we derived the carbonate content of our samples from Diester-Haass et al. (2004, doi:10.1029/2003PA000933) data using linear interpolation between 542.45 and 149.00 m. Secondly, we calculated the carbonate mass accumulation rates (MARCarb, expressed as g/m²/ka) for each sample, using the LSR (cm/ka) obtained, and the calcium carbonate content (wt% CaCO3) and the dry bulk density (DBD, g/cm3) interpolated from Diester-Haass et al. (2004). We applied the formula: MARCarb = %wtCaCO₃ * LSR * DBD. MARCarb from this study has been plotted with MARCarb from Diester-Haass et al. (2004), recalibrated using our age model.
