Remarks concerning nonsaccate pollen, like "frequent" or "rare" are always in relation to the production and transport potential of the different pollen types (e.g., "elm pollen frequent" may refer to 5 or 6 grains, whereas 5 or 6 grains of oak pollen would be regarded as "rare").
