Zooplankton abundance from Multinet samples at selected stations in the LTO Hausgarten in Fram Strait during the Polarstern expedition PS136

Depth-stratified mesozooplankton samples were collected in Fram Strait at selected stations of the LTO Hausgarten with a multinet midi (Hydrobios, 150 µm mesh, opening 0.25 m2) during the RV Polarstern (PS136). We conducted vertical tows that were standardized to the five depth intervals 0 – 50 m, 50 – 200 m, 200 – 500 m, 500 – 1000 m and 1000 – 1500 m (or bottom depth). The volume of filtered water was recorded with a digital flowmeter. All net samples were preserved in a 4% formaldehyde seawater solution buffered with Borax onboard. The samples were analyzed with the imaging system ZooScan using the methodology described in Cornils et al. (2022). The images taken with the ZooScan system can be viewed in the EcoTaxa image datasets (see below).
