This report outlines the work of the Eugenics Legacy Education Project (ELEP) between 2022-2025. It explores how University College London (UCL) can meaningfully engage with its historical ties to eugenics through curriculum development and staff support. During the project, the team:Facilitated conversations and consultations across faculties, creating space for staff and students to reflect on the legacy of eugenics and its ongoing impact. Produced resources and guidance to support educators in embedding this history into their teaching in ethical, inclusive, and contextually relevant ways. Highlighted the importance of visibility, framing silence and inaction as forms of “disrepair” and advocating for sustained, reparative engagement. Contributed to a broader institutional conversation about UCL’s identity, values, and future - particularly as the university approaches its bicentenary.
