Structure and sequence of the sex determining locus in two wild populations of Nile tilapia

The project aims to search for sex-determiners in wild populations of Oreochromis niloticus from Kpandu population (Lave Volta, Ghana-West Africa) and from Koka population (Lake Koka, Ethiopia-East Africa) not subjected to any manipulation. Double-digest Restriction Associated DNA sequencing was used on F1 families and whole genome sequencing (WGS) was used with male and female DNA pools of wild-caught fish.
