The white-fingered mud crab, Rhithropanopeus harrisii, is a widespread estuarine crab which has been successfully introduced to many areas outside of its native range. It is native to the east coast of North America, ranging from the Gulf of St. Lawrence to the Gulf of Mexico. This project includes sequence data from crabs in nine native range estuaries ranging from New Hampshire to Louisiana. These data are part of a larger study exploring population genetics and evolution in the species in its native and invasive ranges, and the impact of an invasive parasite on R. harrisii ecology, susceptibility to parasitism, gene expression, and genomic adaptation.
