Calculations were made using the isotope mass balance: 100A=Bx+(100-x)C, where A is d13C-Corg of sediments; i' is d13C-Corg in microorganism biomass (-20 per mil); i¡ is d13C-Corg in suspended matter (-29 per mil); x is percentage of newly formed Corg in total i¡org in the layer 0-0.5 cm.
