Die nationale Wasserstrategie – Agenda für die Anpassung an Dürre und Trockenheit

DOI

The national water strategy - agenda for adaptation to drought and aridity: The consequences of climate change are also affecting Germany. This is demonstrated by the recent heavy rainfall and flooding events as well as the seasonal drought periods in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022. This article deals exclusively with the latter. Various uses and protected goods are affected by the change in water availability. Strategic action is required to safeguard our water resources in 2050 and beyond. This means preventive and cross-sectoral planning and action. The German National Water Strategy addresses the challenges that lie ahead and defines the necessary tasks in its 78 actions.
