Method Three support staff were filmed during a daily interaction with a person with profound intellectual disabilities. During reviewing the recording, the staff member was asked to pinpoint moments of interaction that they deemed to be meaningful, and to share what particularly made each moment meaningful to them. Their answers were thematically analysed in a multiple case design (N = 3), to explore what makes specific moments of interaction with a person with profound intellectual disabilities meaningful to support staff, ánd to explore how this is associated with behaviours they refer to in their motivations.
The participants were three dyads comprising of a staff member and a person with profound intellectual disabilities from the Netherlands.
