GISP2 ice core Holocene sodium concentration record

This repository contains GISP2 ice core (Summit, Greenland) sodium concentrations of the upper ca. 1600 meter section of the core, corresponding to the ca. 11,000 years of the Holocene. The time series is smoothed using a 100-yr Gaussian kernel. The raw data are from O'Brien et al., 1995: Complexity of Holocene Climate as Reconstructed from a Greenland Ice Core.

Note: smoothed curves are calculated using a 100-yr gaussian kernel.
