Bacterial 16S rRNA gene sequencing sediment samples core STA01.02 Potter Cove, King George Island/Isla 25 de Mayo

Short sediment cores were obtained from station 01, core STA01.02, in Potter Cove, King George Island/Isla 25 de Mayo, West Antarctic Peninsula in Austral summer 2019. The aim of this study was to identify and analyze the distribution and abundance of microbial populations in sediments influenced by enhanced glacial input of nutrients such as metal oxides. DNA was extracted from samples in a detailed depth profile. The bacterial community composition was identified by 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing. Please contact the authors before using this data. Project was funded by DFG SPP 1158
