Alligator mississippiensis Genome sequencing and assembly

The American alligator is one of three crocodilian genomes currently being assembled by the International Crocodilian Genomes Working Group. The American alligator's genome, along with the other two crocodilians being sequenced, will provide valuable information about the evolution of archosaurs and amniotes.
