Observation of the magnetisation profile in a ferromagnetic semiconductor/ferromagnetic semiconductor structure with orthogonal anisotropies

DOI

Ferromagnetic III-V semiconductors lie at the confluence of magnetic storage and optoelectronic technologies, allowing the development of semiconductor heterostructure devices utilizing the electron¿s spin angular momentum. Recent research has focussed on the magnetic semiconductor/non-magnetic layer interface. Here we wish to study the interface between two ferromagnetic semiconductors with orthogonal anisotropies which are surprisingly decoupled. Extracting the magnetic profile across the interface will allow us to test our understanding of the hole depletion and localization in this technologically relevant system.
