At the NIHR ARC North Thames, we involved members of the public in reviewing applications for funding. They acted as “public peer reviewers” and reviewed the application submissions from their own critical perspectives, guided by the questions included in these forms. As part of this process, we invited public collaborators to begin their peer review process by completing one of these forms. The expressions of interest form was used for more brief project proposals at earlier stages of submission. Successful expressions of interest were invited to submit full applications. The form entitled, “Public Peer Review Questionnaire” was for full application submissions.
