16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing project of gut microbiota of deep-sea fish

We report 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequence analysis of gut microbiota of deep-sea fishes (Chlorophthalmus albatrossis, Glossanodon semifasciatus, and Helicolenus hilgendorfi) collected from Suruga Bay, Japan. The analysis revealed a low taxonomic diversity of gut microbiota in these deep-sea fishes.
