The survey obtained information on the employment status, occupation and domestic circmstances of qualified nurses, midwives and health visitors no longer employed in the profession. It also enquired into the nature of their professional qualifications and their attitudes toward the profession. The information will assist in forming and monitoring policies on manpower planning for the field in the 1990s.
