Zeolites are meso- and nano-porous framework materials with applications in many industries. The zeolite framework consists of corner-sharing tetrahedral units. The catalytic properties of zeolites depend on the concentration and position of aluminium atoms within the framework. The aims of this present study will be:1) to perform total scattering measurements on EMC-2 zeolite. The analysis will be accompanied by a comprehensive average model collected beforehand on WISH. 2) to collect high-temperature data at 3 key points between room temperature and 500C. 3) perform geometric modelling to study the flexibility of the EMT framework. Combination of the total scattering data and geometric simulation will help us to resolve the long standing controversy of whether Lowenstein's rule is obeyed by this zeolite.
