R&D on neutron detectors not based on 3He is important for both reactors and spallation ysources. Superconductive films were already succesfully tested in the sixties for detection of charged particles. We propose a test on thermal neutron detection at the INES beam line relying on the use of NbN (Niobioum Nitride) superconductive stripes 50/100 um x 2 cm effective area coated with 1 um of boron where alpha and 7Li particles are generated. These devices will be tested and compared to the standard Li-glass beam monitor of the INES beam line to assess the reliability of the data recorded. Naked strips will be also used for background estimation. A metallic scatterrer and a resonant absorber will also be used as samples to assess the capaibilty of the system in recording , in the transmission spectrum, Bragg Edges and absorption dips (the later in the eV energy region), respectively.
