Compositional and functional shifts in bacterial community in sediments at the Modaomen (the river outlet of the Xijiang River, China) along the saline gradients

Saline intrusion threatens the drinking water and ecological safety in densely populated estuary. In this study, we performed 16S full-length amplicons sequencing on samples collected from the water and sediment in the Xijiang River (the main stream of the Pearl River, China) mouth, Modaomen, South China, to detect the potential bacterial taxa in response to the changes in salinity.
