Rumen microbiota associated with feed efficiency in beef cattle are highly influenced by diet composition

DOI

The aim was to examine the relationship between extreme RFI phenotypes and the taxonomic and functional profiles of the rumen microbiome in fattening Charolais bulls fed two contrasting diets. Rumen samples were collected 3 hours after feeding for metataxonomic and metatranscriptomic analysis.
