To probe attitudes of Church of England clergy towards a variety of social and political issues, as well as on questions of pastoral care and the position of the Church of England in society.

Attitudinal/Behavioural Questions Attitudes on role of Church of England clergy with regard to spiritual life/social and economic environment of their communities; role of Church of England in influencing Government's position on moral issues/national political issues; attitudes towards inflation, job creation, weapons, nuclear weapons, disestablishment of the Church of England. Background Variables Voting behaviour, political allegiance, nature of parish (urban, suburban, rural). The survey resuluts were discussed on the CREDO programme on 17th October 1982.
