Purpose: To investigate effectiveness of Recovery Colleges (RCs) in a propensity-score matched quasi-experimental design across two years. Primary outcome = empowerment. Secondary outcomes = mental health, quality of life, loneliness, self-stigma.
Nature: The dataset includes (1) data from four RCs in the Netherlands and control data from the Panel Psychisch Gezien, a national panel hosted by the Trimbos-institute: data_E_clean.rds. And (2) data with one additional variable (and participant identifier) that was send after the main survey, due to a technical error (Aanvullende vraag.xlsx). R code is available via osf: https://osf.io/nvesw
Scope: This study was part of a larger evaluation, including an economic evaluation. The steps of data cleaning and preparation therefore overlap across these two studies. After these steps, a dataset specifically for the effectiveness study is saved.
The underlying data needed to reproduce Step 1 (cleaning) and Step 2 (preparation) are not available to share. This is due to privacy restrictions and data access limitations of the Panel Psychisch Gezien, from which the control group was sampled. This dataset is the derived dataset used from Step 3 onward (RC partakers + eligible controls). The study has been published in Canadian Journal of Psychiatry.
